Concern builds as public schools in Ohio could lose more than $100M in new budget proposal

School leaders across Ohio are voicing concerns over Governor Mike DeWine’s budget proposal, which they say could result in significant financial losses for public schools if passed in its current form. “The funding of Ohio public schools is in a crisis right now,” said Milford Schools Superintendent John Spieser. Superintendent Spieser testified before the Ohio House Education Committee, highlighting the potential impact on his district. He noted that Milford Schools could lose nearly a million dollars in state funding under the proposed budget.
