WAUSEON, Ohio -Ella Rhoades has been deeply involved in the Wauseon cross-country program, inspired by her older sister Grace, who now runs for Youngstown State. Grace encouraged Ella to start running during lockdown when Ella was in sixth grade. Their shared experience led Ella to develop a passion for the sport. Recently, she won first place at the regional tournament, beating her competitors by nearly 20 seconds. As she prepares for her second trip to the state tournament, where she placed 30th last year, Ella’s main goal is to achieve a personal record. She credits her supportive coaches and team for her success and is eager to represent Wauseon at the upcoming state meet in Obetz, Ohio.
