CINCINNATI, Ohio-The Aubrey Rose Foundation is awarding scholarships to 22 high school students who have demonstrated community involvement and a desire to give back. The foundation, started by the parents of Aubrey Rose, who underwent a heart and lung transplant at 18 months, aims to encourage young people to help others.
One of the scholarship recipients, Leo Schmitz, started a hot chocolate stand to raise funds for the foundation and help sick children. The foundation’s goal is to instill a spirit of giving and social responsibility in its recipients.
