LIMA, Ohio-The first Back to School Education Fair, hosted by Mercy Health-St. Rita’s, aimed to educate Lima families about health issues such as the dangers of smoking and vaping, the effects of hypertension, and the benefits of journaling for mental health. Initiated by Ohio State student Agape Anderson, the fair addressed health disparities within the community. Anderson emphasized the importance of tackling these issues locally before expanding efforts. Community Health Coordinator Ahisha Hale highlighted the fair’s goal of empowering families to make informed health decisions. Attendees could also engage with local agencies and receive school supplies for their children.
