COLUMBUS, Ohio-During the summer, Columbus City Schools offered students a vibrant World Language and Cultures Pathway at the Spanish Immersion Academy. Students eagerly explored American Sign Language (ASL), French, and Spanish, immersing themselves in diverse languages and cultures. Led by enthusiastic instructors like Gabriela Guerrero, who taught Flamenco dance, students embraced new experiences, gained confidence in language skills, and celebrated their achievements at a showcase where they showcased songs in ASL, read books in French and Spanish, and enjoyed authentic Spanish cuisine. The program fostered cultural appreciation and provided a fun yet educational environment, leaving participants with valuable memories and a broader worldview.
