‘Disappointed’ North College Hill Parents React to Date, Time Change for Homecoming Game

NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio-North College Hill’s homecoming football game against Summit Country Day School has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 12, at 11 a.m., at North College Hill Stadium, instead of the previously planned Friday, October 11. The change was made to allow students to participate in both the game and the homecoming dance on the same day. This decision follows a recent incident where gunfire near the stadium interrupted a game, leading to safety concerns. Parents, including quarterback Artamus Palmer, expressed disappointment over the schedule change, emphasizing the significance of homecoming traditions. Despite a student vote on the matter, many parents were unhappy with the decision. North College Hill’s athletic department has implemented new safety measures for events, noting that the shots fired were not directed at the stadium.
