SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-Dr. Sonia Dinnall, a local candidate who grew up in the Springfield School system, has been selected as the new Superintendent by the School Committee. She will be the first woman and first black woman to lead the state’s third largest school system, succeeding Dan Warwick, who is retiring.
Dr. Dinnall has previous experience as the principal at Commerce High School and currently serves as the Chief of Family and Community Engagement for the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership. She has also worked in the Hartford School system. Dr. Dinnall expressed her dedication to the students during her presentation to the committee, emphasizing her commitment to doing her best for them. However, a contract agreement is still pending.
