METAMORA, Ohio-Evergreen High School Band Director Chris Lyons is retiring after 34 years at the school in Metamora. He has led a band that grew from just 13 students in 1991 to over 140 members around 2010. Lyons expressed pride in his students and the positive impact they’ve had on him. During a recent homecoming game, over 100 alumni joined current students on the field, highlighting his influence on their lives. As he prepares to retire at the end of the school year, Lyons reflects on the lasting connections he’s made and plans to pass the baton to the assistant band director.
