No community is immune to human trafficking. Victims can be as young as 9 years old, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
Because of the manipulation tactics used to coerce kids into sex trafficking, it is often a situation they need help escaping. And some students at Franklinton Prep High School in Columbus say they are prepared to lend a hand.
“It’s something that I’m very passionate about and something that I like doing,” Lenita Brihm said. “Which, that’s very rare. I don’t like doing a lot of things, but health care is something that I really do like.”
