Make-A-Wish Foundation Grants Wish of Ohio Child with Rare Genetic Disorder

CLEVELAND, Ohio-Maximus has partial trisomy 13 and 15, leading to diagnoses of autism and difficult-to-treat epilepsy. His condition qualified him for a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which was made possible by fundraising efforts from Bill Smith, who has raised over $370,000 since 2017 to support the foundation. Maximus’s wish was to visit Disney World, where he experienced the joy of hugging beloved characters like Mickey Mouse, something he rarely did before. Despite ongoing challenges, Maximus has made significant progress, such as walking and talking. His mother, Heather Sniezek, expressed deep gratitude for the memories created during the trip and for the donors who made it all possible, highlighting the positive impact of the wish on their family.
