CLEVELAND, Ohio-A Cleveland man and woman, Bryan Irby and Chartika Mook, pleaded guilty in connection with the accidental shooting death of a seven-year-old boy in March 2023. Irby, 30, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and endangering children, receiving three years probation and a parenting class mandate from Judge Deborah Turner.
Mook, 28, also pleaded guilty to the same charges and was sentenced to two years probation. The victim, Demetrius Dunlap, died after accidentally shooting himself inside a home in Cleveland’s West Side. He was a first grader at Luis Munoz Marin School.
