MONROE, Ohio -The Monroe Local School District is closed on Wednesday, September 11, due to a “safety concern.” The district’s website advises families to check their emails for more information. According to Monroe police, the closure is a precautionary measure in response to a safety concern reported by a student on a bus, although no credible threat was identified. The police did not have enough time to complete their investigation before the school day began. The decision to close the schools was made out of “an abundance of caution” to address any potential concerns seriously.
