Ohio Lawmakers Pass Bill Banning Transgender Students from using Bathroom they Identify with

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio Republican lawmakers passed a bill banning transgender students from using bathrooms or locker rooms that align with their gender identity. Gov. Mike DeWine has agreed to sign the legislation, which applies to K-12 schools and colleges. The law mandates that students must use facilities matching their sex assigned at birth, as verified by an official birth record. The bill, initially introduced as House Bill 183, was passed as an amendment to an unrelated bill in the final hours of the legislative session.
