Ohio Wesleyan to Become Tuition-Free for Lower-Income Delaware County Students

DELAWARE, Ohio-Ohio Wesleyan University’s Gray Chapel has hosted notable figures throughout history, and recently, President Matt vandenBerg made history himself during his inauguration ceremony. VandenBerg announced the Delaware County Promise initiative, offering full-tuition scholarships to qualifying students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and an annual family income below $100,000.

He emphasized the importance of giving back to Delaware County, which has supported the university for over 180 years. VandenBerg addressed challenges facing higher education, emphasizing the need for investment in faculty, staff, and student support.

He also highlighted plans for a new student social hub and improvements in student retention rates. The Delaware County Promise is just the beginning of VandenBerg’s initiatives, signaling a new chapter for Ohio Wesleyan University.
