The Columbus City School District’s proposed school closure plan threatens to disrupt our children’s education, destabilize our neighborhoods and raise serious questions about fiscal responsibility and equity.
My children attend West Broad Elementary, which is on the closure list, and I am active member of Columbus Parent Impact, Columbus Education Justice Coalition Board Watch ad my community.
Closing the school would force students to take unsafe routes and rely on an already strained transportation system. With the district’s current transportation challenges, especially due to accommodating private and charter schools, this proposal raises serious safety concerns for our children.
