PICKERINGTON, Ohio-Pickerington Local School District is seeking community input on potential changes to school day start and end times. A third-party consulting firm, RAMA Consulting, has been hired to facilitate discussions following concerns about transparency earlier in 2024. Assistant Superintendent Alesia Gillison emphasized that no decisions have been made yet. The district’s review process includes open listening sessions, updates, and a committee comprising parents, teachers, staff, childcare providers, and community leaders. A survey conducted in February showed mixed opinions among parents and staff, with logistical, safety, and extracurricular concerns raised. School Board Member Mark Hensen stressed the importance of prioritizing improvements to student learning in any potential schedule changes.
