A special day at Polaris Career Center recently brought together 34 local seventh- and eighth-grade girls to offer them insight into possible future careers in the construction trades. The first-ever BuildHER workshop took place Saturday (March 1) and included six hours of hands-on activities and lab experiences. Sponsored by Henkel Corp. and Regency Construction Services, Polaris instructors and student leaders assisted participants in learning about various aspects of what traditionally has been a male-dominated industry.
