CINCINNATI, Ohio-Dee Alexander, a wing player for Purcell Marian High School, has been invited to participate in the 2024 USA Basketball Women’s U17 National Team trials in Colorado Springs, starting May 23. Alexander, a two-time Ohio Ms. Basketball recipient committed to the University of Cincinnati, is among 44 athletes invited to the trials at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center.
She previously helped lead USA Basketball’s U16 Women’s National Team to a gold medal in June 2023. The 12-member team for the FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup in Mexico is expected to be announced after the trials. Alexander, praised for her growth and leadership, recently led Purcell Marian to its third consecutive state title and holds the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s all-time girls basketball state tournament scoring record. With an impressive high school career, Alexander is gearing up for her senior season with determination and enthusiasm.
