SPENCERVILLE, Ohio-John Zerbe has been appointed as the new middle school principal for Spencerville schools, returning to the district where he previously served as a teacher, coach, and athletic director for 12 years. He briefly worked as an assistant principal at St. Marys Memorial High School before returning to Spencerville to teach fourth grade.
Zerbe most recently held the position of assistant elementary principal at Elida schools. He succeeds John Edinger, who will transition to a teaching and assistant principal role at the West Central Learning Academy. Superintendent Brian Woods expressed excitement about Zerbe’s return, praising his instructional leadership skills, ability to create a positive school environment, and diverse teaching experiences. The school board approved Zerbe’s hiring on Tuesday.
