COLUMBUS, Ohio-Westland High School honored Mattis, Ohio’s first therapy K-9, with a pre-game tribute and special helmet decals during a recent game. Deputy Darrah Metz, Mattis’ handler, shared his gratitude on Twitter. Mattis, a 7-year-old yellow lab, served as a deputy sheriff K-9 since October 2017, providing comfort to many and helping to train other therapy dogs. The community mourned his passing in June due to health issues, but his legacy of love and support remains.
