Woodward Names James Millen as its New Boys Hoops Coach, Pending Board Approval

CINCINNATI, Ohio-Woodward High School has appointed James Millen as its boys basketball coach and program director, pending approval from the Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education. A 2006 graduate of Shroder High School, Millen has over a decade of coaching experience across various levels, from youth leagues to professional teams. Athletic director Jabreel Moton praised Millen’s extensive background, including his current role at the Ronnie Grandison Basketball Academy, where he oversees youth league operations and specializes in player development. Millen has also played professionally in Canada and coached in China, where his teams won three international championships. He replaces Michael “Bruiser” Holmes, who stepped down in early September to take an assistant coaching position at Miles College. Woodward had a strong 16-8 record during the 2023-24 season and will begin the upcoming season on November 27.
