Lakota East HS Principal Ordered on Administrative Leave

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio-Rob Burnside, principal of Lakota East High School, was placed on paid administrative leave on November 4 while district officials investigate an undisclosed “concern.” The investigation was prompted by an issue brought to the district’s attention, though specific details have not been shared. Superintendent Ashley Whitely assured parents that the school’s administrative team would handle leadership duties during Burnside’s absence. This is the second time in three years that a principal at Lakota East has been placed on leave; Burnside’s predecessor, Yejide Mack, was also placed on leave in 2021. Burnside, who has been principal since 2021, previously taught at Lakota East and has held leadership roles at other school districts. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not commented further due to the personnel nature of the matter.
