COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed by a 16-year-old in Colerain on Sunday night. The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on Laverne Drive. The 16-year-old, who has been arrested and charged with homicide, claimed during a 911 call that the shooting was accidental, explaining that he “accidentally pulled the trigger” while bringing the gun and ammunition to the home. Gun safety advocates, including Rufus Johnson, have emphasized the importance of proper firearm handling, advising children to report, avoid touching triggers, and never point guns at others. Johnson urged parents to be proactive in securing firearms and educating themselves on gun safety. Dorron Hunter of Future Ambassadors, Inc. stressed the need for youth-focused programs to steer children away from violence and improve decision-making.
