CINCINNATI, Ohio-Soraya Faruqui, a 12-year-old girl, is facing a terminal illness with remarkable courage and acceptance. Despite her deteriorating health, she and her family have chosen to embrace joy and make the most of their time together. Soraya’s condition remains undiagnosed, resembling childhood ALS, but her family focuses on ensuring her comfort and happiness.
They cherish precious moments, including a memorable trip to Hawaii granted by Make-A-Wish, where Soraya learned to surf. Despite the challenges, their family motto is to “suck the joy out of life,” embodying resilience and love in the face of adversity.
