BG City Schools Cuts Busing due to Driver Shortage

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-Thomas Wolf expressed concern to the Bowling Green Board of Education about his son having to walk nearly two miles to elementary school due to limited bus service. With the district planning to limit bus service to students living two miles or more from their schools,

Wolf worries about his son’s safety, especially since he starts work early. He suggested police patrols or crossing guards for safety. The board voted to provide busing for students living more than two miles away, reducing eligible students by half. Board member Tracy Hovest proposed hiring more crossing guards and collaborating with the city to manage increased traffic flow at schools.
