BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio-Joshawa Barry, 32, of Bellefontaine, was arrested on Sunday after being accused of assaulting his 14-year-old son. The boy was taken to Berger Hospital in Circleville with visible neck injuries, prompting a report to authorities by a nurse. The boy’s grandmother, Elizabeth Drake, stated that Barry had threatened to abandon his son. During an interview, the victim revealed he had been choked and verbally abused by his father. Witnesses also confirmed seeing injuries on the boy. Barry was arrested after police gathered evidence, and he faces charges of strangulation and domestic violence, both felonies. Logan County Children Services is involved, and the investigation is ongoing.
