Francis Scruci to Retire as BG Superintendent by End of July

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-During a recent Bowling Green City Schools board meeting, Superintendent Francis Scruci announced his retirement effective July 31, after serving eight years. While Scruci garnered mixed feelings from the community, the board unanimously approved his retirement.

The new board president, Ryan Myers, clarified that he would not be applying for the superintendent position. The board is eager to begin the search for a new superintendent, emphasizing the importance of finding someone with a vision for the district, collaboration skills, and experience. The board contracted with the Ohio School Board Association to assist with the superintendent search. Additionally, the board passed resolutions related to facilities planning and expressed optimism for the district’s future despite upcoming challenges.
