MAHONING, Ohio-The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has awarded significant grants to two local career centers in Appalachian regions. Mahoning County Career and Technical Center received $5.03 million to construct a 12,000-square-foot facility for healthcare education and new classrooms.
Trumbull Career and Technical Center was granted $5.126 million for a 13,600-square-foot expansion, focusing on an Industrial Technology Program and mental health services. These investments are part of a broader $88 million initiative to enhance education and public health infrastructure in underserved Appalachian communities, supported by Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted.
