Miller South and Pfeiffer Building Projects Move Forward After Design Firm Approved by Akron School board

AKRON, Ohio-The Akron Board of Education has approved a $4.5 million design contract with PRIME AE for the new Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts and Pfeiffer Elementary School. Both schools will be built on the former Kenmore High School site as part of a $61 million project. The new facilities will serve about 800 students and include a 500-seat auditorium, parking, and green spaces. The design is still being developed and may involve either one or two buildings. PRIME AE will handle site evaluations, hazardous material surveys, traffic studies, and utility planning. The current schools will continue to operate until the new buildings are completed.
