Mother and Boyfriend Charged with Child Endangerment after Kids Found Injured

DAYTON, Ohio-Kyle Ray Knox, 38, and Kayla Renae Shepherd, 29, have been indicted following an investigation into the abuse of two young children. On November 18, Dayton police found a 9-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy walking in the street, saying they had been left home alone. The boy had visible injuries, and doctors later discovered additional hidden injuries. Investigations revealed that Knox, Shepherd’s boyfriend, had been physically abusing the boy, including punching him. The children fled the home while Knox and Shepherd were away. Knox has been indicted on charges of child endangerment and serious harm.
