CINCINNATI, Ohio-Residents of Wyoming are rallying to support a Wyoming High School student who was sexually assaulted in 2023. The student’s family faced the termination of in-school counseling services due to an unpaid bill of $500. A community organization, led by Joe Brinkman and others, initiated a GoFundMe campaign to cover the counseling expenses.
Within eight hours, they surpassed their $1,000 goal. The donations are directly benefiting the victim’s family, who expressed gratitude for the support. Brinkman emphasized that the community stands with the family and believes that schools should be safe for all students. Meanwhile, two of the three teenagers charged in connection with the sexual assault have accepted plea deals, with one already sentenced to probation. The third teenager is scheduled for trial on June 3.
