Schools explain decisions to close for second day after snowstorm

Most local school districts remained closed on Tuesday, one day after the end of the Dayton region’s biggest snowstorm in years.

It’s the end of winter break for most local K-12 schools, and they had expected to resume classes Monday after the winter holidays. But with snow still falling Monday, and eventually piling up to 8-10 inches in many areas of Butler, Montgomery and Warren counties, schools’ winter break keeps rolling on.
