BELMONT, Ohio-Voters in the Union Local School District rejected a $34 million bond issue aimed at infrastructure improvements, marking the second time the proposal had been on the ballot, after a previous $62 million bond issue was also defeated last year. In local elections, Republican Vince Gianangeli won the County Commission seat unopposed, as did James Zusack for sheriff. The Department of Job and Family Services’ children services renewal levy, which included a reduction to 0.45 mills, passed with a margin of over 4,000 votes.
