In a friendly first-grade classroom, tucked into the close-knit community of St. Bernadette Parish, sits a remarkable woman. Debbie Chinchar is ending her career in the very same classroom where she began teaching after her college graduation in 1976. Colleagues, students and friends at St. Bernadette Elementary School gave Chinchar a celebratory “clap out” last week, showering her with gratitude for her 49 years of service.
