WHEELERSBURG, OhioRyan Frazee, a 15-year-old from Wheelersburg, is set to represent his community at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. The journey to nationals involves winning school, county, and regional competitions. Frazee, who persevered through months of preparation, was surprised but optimistic after winning regionals, especially after a previous loss.
He attributes his success to disciplined study habits, repeatedly reviewing word lists until he can spell them from memory. The Scripps Bee Week, from May 26-31, promises excitement with over 245 spellers competing at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Frazee looks forward to experiencing the beauty of Washington D.C. and aims to advance as far as possible in the competition.
