April 4th, 2023-NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio-North Olmsted City Schools is embarking on the construction of a new $58 million PreK-5 Lorain Road building set to open in the 2026-2027 school year. With concerns about water retention, a stormwater control system designed by Lewis Land Professionals is being implemented, estimated to cost over $2 million.
The system includes 2,500 buried chambers to detain stormwater, totaling 120,000 cubic feet, effectively preventing flooding by diverting water away from downstream properties. Additionally, excess topsoil from the construction site is being provided to the city for its Community Park project, showcasing collaborative efforts within the community.
