STEWART, Ohio-Federal Hocking Local Schools is reintroducing an independent middle school for students in grades six through eight, marking the first time since the mid-2000s. Previously, students in grade seven and above attended Federal Hocking High School, while sixth graders were dispersed across Amesville and Coolville elementary schools.
The new middle school utilizes the same building as before, which was previously used for storage and conference rooms during the years without a middle school. The decision aims to provide students with a more structured day and increased attention from administration, with Principal Kirby Seeger highlighting improved communication with parents as a priority.
