County Girl Scouts Earn Gold Awards

HIGHLAND, Ohio-Two Highland County girls, Sydney Hamilton and Madalyn Ross, will receive the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting. Sydney’s project focused on promoting pollinator habitats, while Madalyn’s project aimed to raise adoption awareness.

The Gold Award recognizes girls in grades 9-12 who demonstrate exceptional leadership through sustainable community projects. In 2024, 16 girls from the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland region will receive this prestigious award, highlighting their commitment to service and leadership. The recipients will be honored at the Highest Awards Ceremony on June 9 in Columbus, with Kate Siefert, a reporter from ABC 6 and Fox 28, serving as the keynote speaker.
