April 4th, 2024-INDEPENDENCE, Ohio – Jennifer Knapp has been appointed as the new treasurer for Independence Local Schools, effective from the end of July. She currently serves in the same role at Medina’s Buckeye Schools. Knapp brings extensive experience in fiscal management, including forecasting, appropriations, and collective bargaining. She holds an MBA from Ashland University, a Treasurer’s License from the Ohio Department of Education, and is actively involved in professional organizations.
Knapp will oversee the district’s fiscal affairs and aims to ensure financial objectives are met while supporting academic excellence. Her appointment fills one of the senior leadership positions alongside a new superintendent following the resignation of Ben Hegedish.
