ASHLAND, Ohio-Pathfinder Farms, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Ashland and other partners, is raising funds for capital improvements aimed at enhancing its educational programs for youth. These improvements include installing a heating and cooling system for year-round activities, constructing a low ropes course for diverse training programs, and potentially adding an outdoor pavilion or new building for a young women’s ministry.
Jon Burkholder, alongside his wife Sandy, directs Pathfinder Farms, which offers youth from Ashland, Richland, and surrounding counties opportunities to learn life skills through various activities like woodworking, fishing, gardening, and more. Recently, culinary chef Autumn Bachelder and Life Skills/Facilitator Manager Jacob Blasdel have joined the team to enrich the farm’s offerings. Pathfinder Farms, now in its eighth year, has expanded with after-school programs and collaborations with Ashland City Schools to meet increasing demand, prompting Jon Burkholder to commit full-time to the venture.
