COLUMBUS, Ohio-During the state convention at the Ohio Expo Center on May 8, Sidney senior Alex Lamma was honored among 12 Ohio FFA students for their selection to Sunrise Cooperative, Inc.’s RISE FFA Career Program. Lamma secured a full-time position with Sunrise, accompanied by a pickup truck signing bonus.
As part of the program, Lamma and the other students will engage in Sunrise University, gaining practical job experience over four years. Lamma was recognized as the top recipient, receiving a 2023 Jeep Gladiator as a signing bonus and a $1,000 donation to Sidney’s FFA chapter from Sunrise. Candidates for the program needed to be 2024 high school graduates and active in their FFA chapter, submitting applications and essays on FFA’s role in their career readiness. The program, initiated in 2019, aims to identify future agricultural leaders while supporting the Ohio FFA Association State President.
