AKRON, Ohio-Silver Lake Elementary School, established in 1927, is the second-oldest suburban school building in Summit County, Ohio, and part of the Cuyahoga Falls City School District. It was built during the Jazz Age, under President Calvin Coolidge. The only older suburban school in the county is the original section of Cuyahoga Falls High School. As the school nears its 100th anniversary, it is showing signs of age, with cramped classrooms, outdated boilers and plumbing, and a multi-level layout that complicates accessibility for individuals with mobility issues.
