COLUMBUS, Ohio-Columbus State Community College and The Child Development Council of Franklin County, Inc. (CDCFC) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the Center for Early Learning and the commencement of enrollment. The center, located at 320 N. Grant Ave., will cater to families with children aged infant to 5 years, including Columbus State students, college employees, and the broader community.
The partnership between Columbus State and CDCFC addresses the community’s child care needs, with the college investing $3.5 million in renovations funded by a bond issue approved by voters. The center, operated by CDCFC, offers affordable child care with discounted rates based on family income. Priority enrollment is given to Columbus State student-parents and employees, with remaining spots open to the wider community. The facility integrates with Columbus State’s Early Childhood Development Education program, facilitating learning and innovation opportunities for students and faculty.
