HANCOCK, Ohio-The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1 announced the winners of its annual Paint-the-Plow contest, with Hancock County’s Riverdale Middle School and the Paulding FFA Chapter earning top honors. Riverdale won the people’s choice award, while Paulding FFA’s entry “Move Over… Mailbox Slayer” received the ODOT Choice Award.
These awards recognize creativity in painting snowplows. Riverdale’s plow honored a beloved teacher, Mr. Luke Swavel. Ada High School and Upper Scioto Valley High School secured second and third place, respectively, in the people’s choice category. The contest saw 26 schools from all eight counties in District 1 participating, with each county having a favorite entry chosen by ODOT employees.
