HURON TTOWNSHIP, Ohio-Erie County scholarship recipients gathered for a Scholarship Recognition Breakfast hosted by the Erie County Community Foundation on June 7 at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron Township. Approximately $287,500 in scholarship funds were awarded to nearly 150 high school and college students from various local organizations and individuals.
Over its 29 years, the foundation has granted nearly $2 million in scholarships to support students pursuing post-secondary education. Among the attendees was Caja Boeseneilers, who received scholarships totaling $6,400 from the College Women’s Club Charitable Fund and the Ewalt & Jocelyn Maurushat Engineering Scholarship. She plans to pursue mechanical engineering with an aerospace concentration in the honors program at Ohio Northern University.
