Columbus City Schools Superintendent Touts Expanded Pre-K offerings as School Year Begins

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Columbus City Schools Superintendent Angela Chapman is excited about the district’s summer investments aimed at enhancing education and facilities. Over the break, significant improvements were made to early childhood and math education, as well as substantial renovations to numerous district buildings funded by a 7.7-mill levy approved by voters. Key upgrades include major work on Mifflin High School’s gym and auditorium, enhancements to Scottwood Elementary, and new playgrounds at elementary schools. Chapman praised the levy’s annual $100 million funding, with over $60 million allocated for maintaining the district’s 110+ school buildings, calling it a transformative and much-needed resource.
