Hilliard City Schools Hosts Community Meetings to Educate Voters About Levy and Bond Issue

HILLIARD, Ohio-As voters prepare for the upcoming election, Hilliard City Schools is emphasizing the importance of a proposed levy and bond issue on the ballot. Superintendent David Stewart held an informational meeting to address concerns, noting that failure to pass the 6.9 mill operating levy could lead to significant budget cuts, potentially eliminating nearly 100 jobs and reducing educational programs. Parents, like Jacleine Ely, expressed fears about the impact of the levy’s failure on teacher jobs and educational opportunities. The bond issue would provide $142 million for construction and renovations, including building three new elementary schools and improving safety.
