The Springfield City School District will provide school supplies to elementary and middle school students for the fifth year in a row, an initiative that started during the COVID-19 pandemic to relieve the strain on families. The district saw that financial strain wasn’t limited to the pandemic, and it has continued this initiative to help alleviate that stress from families, as well as teachers who would also supplement school supplies from their own pockets.
