The lawsuit claims that teachers are conducting these conversations with children as young as six years old, hiding them from parents, and potentially leading to indoctrination and child abuse.
The parents seek to prohibit teachers from discussing gender and sexuality with students without parental consent and to stop them from wearing LGBTQ badges containing QR codes linking to adult sexual education resources. The lawsuit also challenges surveys given to students about their preferred pronouns, alleging a violation of parental rights. School officials deny supporting such surveys and assert their commitment to a transparent and vigorous defense against the lawsuit. The district has 21 days to respond, and more parents may join the lawsuit in an amended complaint.
