CLEVELAND, Ohio-Several students at Mound STEM School in Cleveland were hospitalized after ingesting edible marijuana gummies, as revealed by a report from the Cleveland Police Department. The investigation found that a 13-year-old girl took the edibles from her parent’s closet and distributed them to classmates.
One student experienced an elevated heart rate and received medical attention in the nurse’s office. The mother of the student who brought the edibles was unaware of the situation until contacted by the school. Cleveland Police forwarded the case to juvenile court to determine potential charges of endangering children. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s Safety and Security Team responded promptly to the incident, prioritizing student safety and well-being.
